The kind of information we collect about you depends greatly on how you choose to use our site. You may choose to browse our site, reviewing the available products, without submitting any personal information at all. However, in order to take advantage of our online ordering services, you will need to fill out our membership registration, which asks for certain personally-identifiable information. In particular, we will ask for your name, home and delivery addresses, date of birth, gender, and e-mail address. You will also have the option of including your phone number, and letting us know how you came upon our site. When you register you will be given the option of receiving recurring e-mails, newsletters and health and wellness information about new products, site features and special offers, and/or about new health and wellness features from PharmNet Rx and/or third parties. You may choose not to receive these e-mails at the time you register, or by modifying your account. All this information makes up your "Personal Profile," which will be associated with the user ID and password you choose.
Finally, as you visit our site, please be aware that third parties may at times be able to gather information from you. For example, companies that place ads on our site may use their own cookies, and companies offering information or services jointly with PharmNet Rx may collect the information you submit on co-branded pages. In these cases, the third parties would use your information according to their own policies. See "Your Options" below for more information about what you can do to limit third party access to your information.
USE OF INFORMATION
We feel it is important for you to know how your information will be used before you decide what to disclose. Below, we describe how each category of information is used and with whom it might be shared. We will not use your information for purposes other than these unless you give us your permission or we are legally compelled to do so, such as by a subpoena or court order.
Cookies: Cookies are small files that we send to and store on your computer so that we may recognize it as a unique machine the next time you visit our site. Our cookies are used to keep track of your information for your own convenience. Cookies also help us understand the size of our audience and their traffic patterns within our site. We may share this kind of information, in aggregated, non-personal form, to our advertisers and other third parties. Some of our advertisers may also use their own cookies.
As we strive to offer you improved service, we may in the future use your e-mail address to communicate with you about your account or to send you offers tailored to your needs and interests. You will be given the opportunity to opt out of these mailings. We may also use some registration information, such as your zip code, to help us analyze our customer demographics. All uniquely identifying information (like your name or e-mail address) will be separated from such data before it is used in this way.
Online Purchases and Prescription Refills: We understand that your choice of products to purchase, especially in the area of pharmaceuticals, can be very personal, and may even be subject to patient-pharmacist confidentiality. In order to fulfill your order, we must share this information (along with your name and contact information) with our pharmacists and pharmacy staff. Your pharmacist will use your order information, including any prescription number and patient's name, only as necessary to refill your prescription legally, accurately, and according to your health insurance requirements. We will never disclose the specifics of your order to any other person or company in a way that could identify you personally. We may, however, use information about your product order-stripped of any reference to you personally-to help us understand our customer's preferences in general.
Our site also gives you the ability to view and edit your Personal Profile at any time. Simply follow the link called "My Account" at the top of our home page, and you can choose to change the option of receiving recurring e-mails, newsletters and health and wellness information, as well as update or correct your name, contact and delivery information, and password. In addition, you may review a history of your online prescription orders.
In order to maintain the integrity and security of your personal information (including your purchase choices), we will only ask for or transmit this information over secure Internet connections, using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption-the recognized standard for online security. Additionally, the server that processes this information is password-protected and separated from the Internet by a "firewall," intended to prevent unauthorized access.
